The WHEELS Experience - Transports of delight!
Its just six months since we opened the doors of WHEELS and already we need to expand! This advertisement cannot possibly tell you all about our unique enterprise - only a personal visit can do that.
Were easy to find in Warwick Street, just past the fire station. Under one roof we have an exclusive restaurant, a train and bus model shop, a host of transport relics, a coffee lounge set amid pictures and photographs depicting the history of bus transport in the Midlands - and a coach agency.
Diverse it may seem, but not so . . . the transport theme links Everything at Wheels.
Trains & Buses
Trains and buses have a
universal appeal to young and old. Our train and bus shop is an
Aladdins cave! Trains for children who want to be engine
drivers, trains for experienced collectors and trains for grown-ups
who want to be children again. New or old, we have it - and every
gauge aswell.
Our newly extended displays are bursting with buses and trains, locos and carriages, wagons and accessories. We pride ourselves in our large stock of quality second hand trains - and we have an abundance of bits and pieces just waiting to find a good home, and join a growing collection. Maybe you have an old train set long forgotten, but living in your loft - why not bring it to us to value. Come and talk to Ashley and Stuart. Naturally we stock Hornby, Lima, Dapol, Graham Farish, Peco and many other famous names, and we are always happy to order anything you specially need - indeed our special order department has grown overwhelmingly since we opened. A new series of BMMO bus kits will soon be available and our special New for Old scheme is worth talking to us about.
If you are in to trains and buses come and see us.
Memories are jogged in our memorabilia corner. Browse through our collection of old train and bus timetables. Examine the badges and books we have for sale. Or do you fancy owning an old bus uniform or cap, or a bus ticket machine. Glance through our collection of old and new transport photographs. Our collection of back-number transport magazines might include the ones you have missed.
Bring back memories. Youll be surprised what we have in store for you.
The Master Cutler
All aboard for a unique dining experience recapturing the evocative days when this famous train steamed between Sheffield and London. We have recreated within WHEELS the ambience of the Master Cutlers renowned dining car where passengers dined at their leisure on fine food and wine. Dinner is served at one sitting commencing 7.45 p.m. with a pre-prandial glass of wine before sitting down at 8.00 p.m.
The three course dinner is served from a comprehensive menu, of entirely fresh food selected with care and prepared with skill.
During 1987 we have planned a programme of rather special evenings, and we hope our guests will enter into the spirit of things wholeheartedly. Ask for details of our Orient Express Evenings, our Trans-Siberian Express Dinner or our Victorian Evening. Ask about our special dinners to celebrate Henley Regatta, Halloween and Glorious Grouse. Mothers Day and Fathers Day are not forgotten and our St. Georges Day Traditional English Dinner will be something to look forward to. Christmas Day lunch and Boxing Day supper will be really sumptuous. Of course, for your private parties, charity dinners, club or society event, we can fix most things. Talk to us about your own special needs for breakfasts, lunches or dinners.
We are different but we think youll like us.
Coaching
Coaching comes in many forms and Coaching at Wheels is here to make them easily available. With many years of experience in the bus and coach industry our staff can fix whatever you need whether its a ticket for one to Winchester, a minibus for several to Manchester, or a coach for many to Colchester, we are your starting point.
We will plan your trip to the very last detail and fix the catering as well if you wish. We take away the hustle from party organisers and many large companies locally use our services because they know we find the right vehicle for the job, and the right price for the vehicle. Ashley is the person to speak to about bus and coach travel - hes been involved with it all his life and he is an expert. Coaching at Wheels is your local official agent for all major coach companies including National Express, Flights Flightlink Airport Coach Services, London Liner Executive services and Stagecoach Luxury Scottish services. We have the whole of Britain and Europe at our fingertips. Remember one or one million we can handle it - and handle it well! Ashley has handled what is known to be the largest movement of disabled passengers in the UK!
The Next Stop
The Next Stop is our coffee and lunch shop. From 10 to 6 each day except Sunday you can enjoy coffee and cakes, afternoon tea, or a snack - and our sandwiches are really rather special. We also offer a sandwich delivery service for those who cant get out. Come for a salad, or an omelette, a pasta snack or a sandwich. Coffee or tea in the quiet relaxing atmosphere of The Next Stop at Wheels is a special treat everyone deserves and at lunch time you might like to have a glass of wine with your snack.
